(See the road closures page for a detailed list of the roads which will be closed during the Capitol Hill Classic races.)
The course for the 10K starts out in front of Peabody Primary School. Runners head west around the corner of Stanton Park and then past the Supreme Court, the U.S. Capitol, and the Library of Congress. The course wraps behind the Library of Congress before returning to the tree canopies along East Capitol Street, around Lincoln Park, and RFK Stadium onto the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. After a circle along the trail, runners head back in along East Capitol to return to the finish at Peabody.
The 10K course will be USATF-certified; once the certification is complete, we’ll post a link to the official certificate and map.
The 3K course starts out in front of Peabody Primary School, heading west around the corner of Stanton Park before turning down to East Capitol Street. Runners continue in the shade of East Capitol to Lincoln Park before turning around and heading back to Peabody for the finish.
The 3K course is USATF-certified, certificate number DC13003LMJ; you can download the official certificate and map here.
The Fun Run is a single lap around Stanton Park (approximately a third of a mile). Parents are welcome to run with their children; all finishers will receive medals!
